Ponys

After years of being in storage, my dad got out my old Little Ponys for Katie to have and play with. Combined with her own Ponys, she has quite a collection (along with their accessories) and she had a great evening playing with them! For me it was pretty cool to see my old ones and the difference between the two generation of Ponys (actually, it makes me feel old...)

Trent 8 months

Trent is now 8 months old and weighs 21.5 lbs! He is now sitting up on his own, rolling over and scooting on his belly and can maneuver his walker to anywhere in the house. Like Tys, Trent loves to eat! He cries if he's not at the table with us when we're eating (guess he's afraid of missing out on good food!) He is still wearing his helmet for most of the day/night and his next appt. in SLC is Sept 8; he is beginning to realize when he has the helmet off and on and, he'll whine when I go to put it on. Lately, I've also been struggling with the heat rashes and irritations on his scalp ~ due to the helmet. But, he's getting through it and I suspect he won't be wearing it much longer (or, maybe I'm just hoping...) Five Things We Love About 'Ren:
1. Those great big blue eyes
2. His belly laughter when he's playing with Katie and Tys
3. His constant jibber jabber
4. The big smiles that show off those two bottom teeth
5. Watching him learn new things and growing curiousity about things

Here are a few pictures of our new home! There is still lots to do: pictures to hang, painting (both bathrooms, morning room, kitchen) more furniture to move in (china hutch, kitchen chairs in the morning room and coffee table in the living room) and odds 'n end boxes to go through. But, we're "functioning" and loving our new home!! The master bathroom
Our whirlpool tub.. this was taken before we moved everything in... the open doors go into our HUGE closet (which is now full!)

moving

I'm back on-line and, am happy to say that we've moved and are getting settled in our new home! We did the official move last Friday and we so thankful to have many of our friends help us out... in all there were at least a dozen "movers" and it really made everything go so quickly. Since then we've been busy unpacking, sorting, organizing and finding our way around all this new space! I have pictures to post of the house but first, here are a few from the moving day

The boys were so good at hanging out and watching everyone work :)

Meredith and Marie arrived Friday night from Boise... I warned them that they were going to be put to work! On Saturday morning Meredith arrived with lattes and we spent the day tackling boxes. Meredith organized our videos and dvd's beautifully (I don't have the heart to tell her that with 3 kids it won't stay that way!!)
Marie spent all day unpacking and organizing our kitchen... what a big job!! Thankyou, Marie, for doing that AND still finding time to bake us yummy cookies :)

Trent, right after his bath last night
If all goes well with the paperwork this morning, we'll begin moving today and tomorrow! After waiting for so long I'm excited to finally have the day here. I'll post pictures of our new place soon...

No matter what they're doing, Trent always thinks his siblings are SO funny!

A few random photos that I don't think I've posted yet... My parents watched our kids last night so we could go on a late anniversary dinner date with Jerry and Sharla. The food was great at the Hideaway and we had a wonderful evening with J & S!!!
Trent finally decided to take a bottle about a month ago! The funny thing is he immediately began holding his bottle as well; it's like he knew all along how to do it! Of course, with him now taking a bottle my world has opened up to all sorts of "freedom" :)

Katie doing her ballerina, Princess pose. (sadly, I cut off her arm...)

One day last week I had Katie's friends over to play (Eliese, Wesley and her beloved, Jibit) They had fun running through the sprinklers and getting all the toys out of the toy box!
Paperwork for the house was supposed to be ready yesterday but, that didn't happen. So, I can't begin moving today like originally planned. We're basically playing the waiting game! I'm trying to be patient but it's hard with our current place being such a mess and, we're leaving next week to go camping. So, in my mind I NEED to be moving now!!

Tys' 2nd birthday

Tys, on his birthday. I love the way he says "4-wheeler"!

"wimmin"

Needing a break from packing, mom and I took the kids and Jibit swimming after lunch. They had a great time and, this year they're big enough that they can swim in the kiddie pool by themselves (something about the public kiddie pool just isn't very appealing to me!) Ready for the big plunge... ready, set, go!!
Look at the height Jibit got!! He's going to be a long-jump track star someday :)

Trent and Nana just chillin'
Tys had a great time "wimmin"!!
Now, this evening Casey and I are going out on a "date" with Jerry and Sharla, to celebrate our anniversarys. They just had their 10 yr! My parents gave us a gift cert. to a local restaurant for our anniversary last Feb. and, we're just now using it!! Better late than never :)

Saturday night

Last night our church got together for dinner at the park and a swimming party at our local pool. As always, it was a great time and the weather was perfect (even a little bit on the cooler side)
Kaden and Katie having lots of fun!

Jerry and Sharla
Katie was kind enough to share her Princess towel with her little brother as he took his evening cat nap
After spending the first half hour sitting on the pool steps, Tys finally decided to get in! By then the temperature was cold and he was FREEZING. But, he swam for a little while before getting out with blue lips and frozen hands :)
Our pastor, Danny, and Aria... sadly, he and his family will be leaving us sometime this fall....

This is what happens when my cousin, Doug, secretly gets a hold of my camera!
He was dropped on the head as a child :)

And I'm still trying to figure out what happened to Jerry....

Trent's world has opened up to all sorts of adventures and new things! He is now rolling all over the place and sitting up on his own. He is getting from Point A to Point B in minutes and getting himself in all sorts of interesting places (more like he gets himself stuck and screams out for help!) His new found mobility has been a challenge for me as our house is a complete disaster from moving and I'm constantly having to watch him. Trent bright and early this morning...
sitting up by himself

He loves the swing!
hanging out with Nana
We are still waiting to have the paperwork finished on the house before we can move ~ hopefully, the closing will be the beginning of next week. Then, dad will paint and we can begin moving the end of next week! In the mean time, I'm busy packing and going through stuff... packing has been going slow and there's still lots left to do! I did get the new house cleaned on Wednesday; there were layers of dirt and fine, white powder from the sheet rock. Lots of hard work but, it's also fun to clean a brand new house where everything comes so clean, so easily :)

Home Again

Just arrived home from trip #6 to SLC for Trent's helmet appointment. Mom, myself and Trent left early yesterday morning... his appt. was at 2pm. Unlike his last appt. there has been no change to his forehead these last 2 weeks; due to the fact that he hasn't grown much and, the first week he had a fever/antibiotic reaction and took a break from wearing it. The good news is that we don't have to go back to SLC for a whole month!!
Mom and I did quite a bit of fall/winter clothes shopping for the kids yesterday afternoon and today.... we found lots of great deals! Also, I got paint today for our new house and, will begin cleaning the house tomorrow. We're hoping we can move in next week :) I am SO ready to move... it's tiring to live around boxes and having our lives in this "transition period". It also doesn't help that I now have to unpack everything from SLC (bags, Costco food, groceries etc) and play "catch up" on the laundry from being gone for 2 days. Thankfully, Casey did clean the house while I was away... isn't he the greatest?!

Tys' birthday party

Yesterday evening we had a big birthday party at the park in honor of Tys! Although it was rainy and cloudy that morning, it turned out to be a great day. Here are a few pictures from his fun party... Tys at the slide
Mom and our friend Jona

Amy and Krystin with "their babies"!

"the cooks" Ken, Doug and my goofy dad

Kaden and Katie

Our friend, Piper, made Tys' awesome Cars cake!

And, Tys had a cake of his very own!

Opening his presents... everything was "WOW"
Tys is so blessed to have so many family and friends who love him and, were there to share in his special day!
