Jackson and Jogging

This week is already shaping up to be terrific!  Last night we got to babysit my sweet little nephew Jackson and we loved every minute!  He's such an easy going, happy boy!  Katie Rose got to help with him... which included lessons in diaper changing and wiping up spit up :)

Kristiana and I are enjoying our morning fall runs along the Nampa greenbelt.  I've figured out a pretty good 6-7 mile route that includes a stop by the park and animals along the way.  She loves seeing the cows, horses, ducks, goats and sheep.  Our fall weather has been amazing this year!  We're experiencing the beautiful change of colors on the trees but, also having warm temperatures so we can get outside to enjoy it all!

Boo In The Zoo

Last weekend the kids had a 4 day weekend due to parent/teacher conferences (all three kiddos are doing fabulous!) so on Friday the kids and I went to stay at my parent's for Fri & Sat.  On Friday night we went swimming at their gym which, is always a family favorite activity!  On Saturday Mom & I went to the gym then, took the kids to our favorite yearly fall event of Boo In The Zoo ~ at Zoo Boise.  There are LOTS of people dressed up in their costumes and fun cartoon characters walking around handing out candy to the kids.  It was nice to have Kyle, Marie and Jackson meet us there too.  And, Jackson was his cutie pie self in his adorable "Baby Chef" outfit!

Body of Christ

Two weeks ago there were 5 new families added as members to DaySpring church... three of them included my family, parents, Jake and Krystal!  This was Krystal's first occasion for becoming a member at a Reformed church and a very special event for us all!
p.s. I'm still rocking my "sunburned" forehead :)

Baby Celebrations

Last Saturday Katie Rose and I got to have a "girl's day" and celebrate the upcoming arrivals of 2 very special baby boys!
First, in the morning we attended Krystal's baby shower for my nephew, Beckham (due the first of Dec) It was held at her mother's house, with lunch and a hot cocoa bar.  We're super excited for Beckham's arrival!!
In the afternoon, Katie and I met up with my dear friend, Kristal and her sweet little daughter Mila.  First we played at the J. Kleiner park then, walked around The Village.  The water fountains and cute shops make it a wonderful atmosphere!  We also enjoyed yummy frozen yogurt :)  Kristal's little boy is due the middle of this month.

Chemo Treatment

Due to a very crazy, sick month of September, I am now behind in my blogging!  On Sept 12th I began a 4 week topical chemo cream treatment for the Basal Cell Carcinoma on my forehead. I applied it twice a day.  The first week went pretty well.  It was the beginning of a bad chemical burn... lots of redness and burning.  However, by day 10 it all began to go downhill.  The treatment hit strong and furious... causing a case of cellulitis on the skin of my forehead.  And, all in a 6 day time frame I fought a very high fever.  I had stopped the chemo treatment to clear of my skin but, by day sick I ended up with pneumonia and was admitted to the hospital overnight for antibiotics and fluids.  I haven't been that sick in a very long time!  After spending 6 days fighting a fever and dealing with the misery of my forehead... well, I was happy to be on the road to recovery once again!  It took about 2 weeks to clear everything up and feel like I was back to normal. How nice it was to be able to be outside again! Even thought I only got in 10 days of the chemo treatment, we felt that it was strong enough to not continue on at this point.  I'm going to wait and see if it comes back and will cross that bridge when/if needed.

During all of this craziness, I and my family were so blessed by the kindness and support shown to us by our family and friends!  Meals were brought for us, prayers lifted up and just acts of kindness that reminded us our amazing our friends and family are!!
