It's already Friday! I can't believe how fast this last week flew by; we've been busy with uneventful things. Casey has been busy working long days and, the kids and I have been keeping busy with reading (the library's reading program is still going on) weeding the garden, on Tuesday we went to Winnemucca with Casey and, on Wednesday Briana and I took the kids swimming at our local pool. I am getting the crafts finished up for VBS next week and the kids are having fun playing with our new pastor's kids, Alaina, Caleb, Seth and Jacob. It's great they live just down the street! Yesterday Trenton and I baked our favorite zucchini fruit bars... here's a picture of my little helper. With Katie and Tys not around, he got to lick the beaters for the first time and LOVED it!!

July 4th Parade

July 3rd ~ Our town held it's Fourth of July parade on Saturday evening and, this year our church had a float for its upcoming Vacation Bible School. We loaded it down with kids and candy and, had a great time!! Dena and our new pastor, Chris, were the "runners" and handed out 500 bags of candy & VBS information to kids. Before the parade, we helped our new pastor and his family move into their new home. We also had a bbq at Ken and Judy's house then, everyone came to our house for dessert in the evening. It was a very busy day but, fun because we spent it with friends!

Happy 4th of July!! I am proud to live in this country and am thankful for our soldiers who fight everyday for Her freedom!

Water

You can't have summer without fun days in the water! On Monday evening the kids got to run through the sprinklers and have a water balloon fight. Katie and Trent LOVE the water and jump right in to get soaked. Our more cautious boy, Tys, takes his time but eventually gets wet and enjoys himself!

Roaring Springs ~ We spent all day Tuesday at the very fun water park Roaring Springs. The kids had such a great time and we also enjoyed having our friends Colleen and her boys there too. As well as our friends, Monica, Shannon and her two kids.

With Katie being older this year, she was a little more independant and was busy going this way and that. She loved the kiddie water slides!

This pretty much sums up how much fun they had and how exhausted everyone was by the end of the day!

Boise Zoo

On Monday we took the kids to the Boise Zoo; they had lots of fun checking out the animals and playing at the playground. Katie on her favorite animal, the penguin! She loves watching the penguins as they swim around and do their "tricks"

Like last year, my friend, Colleen, and her 3 boys also met us at the zoo. As always, it's great being able to spend time with her!

This year the kids got to feed a giraffe his morning snack! Tys' new favorite animal is now the giraffe :)

Boise & Bodily Injury

After a fun-filled 5 days in Boise, my mom, the kids and I arrived home last night. We had a great time visiting our family & friends and doing LOTS of fun things! The kids did well on the trip but, were pretty tired by the time we got home... that's usually what happens! As in the previous years, our friends, Brian and Monica, were gracious enough to let us stay with them; for some reason they keep letting us come back and "invade" their beautiful home! Here are the first set of pictures.... After the long drive on Saturday, our first stop was to Hyde Park where the kids got to run around and play. My brother, Jake, and sister in law, Marie, also met us there. We ate dinner and had yummy desserts at our favorite old fashioned ice cream parlor, Goody's.

As some of you already know, I was carrying Trent down the stairs on Tuesday morning and fell about 8-10 steps. Because I couldn't catch my fall, I injured my tailbone pretty bad... thankfully, Trent was ok. I either cracked my tailbone or really bruised it. It's been very painful these last few days and the ride home was torcherous. It hurts to sit, bend over, walk etc. So, today I've been taking it easy (as in, laying on the couch all day) and am feeling somewhat better. My kids keep asking "mommy, how's your booty?"! lol
