After spending Christmas morning with my parents, we finished loading the suburban and packed up some of the kid's new toys. With a big storm heading towards the pass, we hurried to get out of town and on our way to Casey's family in CA. We made good time to Reno then, began our way over Donner. As you can see, we were heading right into the storm! Thankfully, since we were traveling during the day the roads weren't icy. So, we just dealt with high winds and blizzard snow fall and rain. Casey is a good driver and likes the challenge of driving in treacherous conditions :) For it being Christmas day we were surprised at how many cars were out on the roads. There weren't any accidents so we actually made good time to Modesto and made it to Dad and Mom's around 8 that evening. Thursday, December 30, 2010
