Katie has been asking all week if we could bake an apple cake ~ she got the idea from a Strawberry Shortcake movie where they bake an apple cake for Strawberry's little sister, Apple Dumpling. With the weather being so cold and yucky today, I decided it was a good day for baking. First, I made a yellow cake with chocolate frosting for my mom (who was at work) and friends at the hospital. They called this morning with that request! Then, Katie and I made an apple cake. She did pretty much all of it except the really hard stuff (cutting the apples, putting it in the oven etc) and she did a great job! We omitted the nuts for Tys' sake but, other than that... it smells pretty awesome!! We'll let you know after dinner how it tasted :)
I'm afraid Tys is worse about his blankies than Katie was with her 2 little ones! Tys has not just 2 small blankies but 2 BIG ones as well!! He drags them out of bed every morning and keeps saying "blankie, blankie" when he drops one. Because there are so many it's difficult for him to carry them all at once; it's about a 10 minute process getting them all out to the couch :) We have made the rule that he can't take the 2 big ones out of the house so, that does help a little...
