Canyon County Fair

Last Thursday my mom and I took the kids to the Canyon County Fair for the day. We love this fair and try to go every year; we arrived around noon and didn't get home until 11:30 that evening! First, we spent time inside the buildings that had a.c. (animal barns, exhibits, big tent with the "shows") then, after dinner we spent the rest of the evening at the carnival. I didn't get any pictures of the entertainers but, we saw a magician, juggler and a guy with many different types of reptiles. The kids loved all of them!

 Tys, Trenton and Katie all have been able to move up to the bigger rides this year... and this was Kristiana's first year to get to ride the kiddie rides. Her siblings were very nice to ride them with her :)

Rodeo

Idaho Snake River Stampede Rodeo

Last Saturday afternoon my mom and I took the kids to the great Idaho Snake River Stampede Rodeo... we love this rodeo and try to go every year! We had really good seats where we could see behind the scenes and watch the cowboys/cowgirls as they prepared for their ride. Of course, my boys love the bull riders and talked about bull riding for days after :) Kristiana is currently potty training so she and I spent lots of time in the restrooms (ahhhh, the joys of potty training! ha) but, she had a great time watching the "neighs"

Riding

On Sunday evening Casey and I took the kids to the nearby farm where Casey works (his part-time evening job) so they could practice driving the little go-cart and 4-wheeler. Tys is now at the age where he gets the mechanics of the machines and is doing really well at riding/driving. He enjoys giving rides to his siblings and tries to make it "crazy and fun"!  It's awesome to hear them laughing and having a great time! Trenton is still learning how to ride :)  He likes to "punch it" and go really fast! Both boys are doing great at learning not only driving skills but, also how to load and unload them into the back of the trailer, the importance of always wearing helmets and safety in their driving. This summer has been Kristiana's first time for taking rides and, of course, she loves it! Katie is also doing well at driving the go-cart; on this particular evening she was at a musical with my parents so she wasn't with us...

Garden

The fruits of our labors are now abounding forth and we are beginning to enjoy the yummy veggies and herbs that are rapidly growing! Everyday I am now picking zucchini, yellow squash, cucumbers and basil.  Soon, the carrots, onions, tomatoes and peppers will be ready. Kristiana is my big helper when it comes to gardening... in the evenings she helps me "weed" and likes to carry my weed bucket around. Mainly, she keeps me company in the heat! And, of course, carrying the veggies around is always fun :)

Kristiana's 2nd Birthday Celebration!

Kristiana's 2nd birthday was on the Thursday before we left for camping; we decided to celebrate her birthday with everyone at the campsite... Her two favorite cartoon characters right now are Minnie Mouse and Dora the Explorer so, she had a Minnie Mouse themed party and received a couple of Dora gifts :) She loved having us sing "Happy Birthday" to her and walked around for days asking for the "Happy Day" song!
